Non-Appropriated Funds Instrumentalities Act
Individuals working for Non-Appropriated Funds Instrumentalities are also covered under a specialized law known as the Non-Appropriated Funds Instrumentalities Act. This law covers individuals who are injured or die while working either in the United States or anywhere else in the world in support of Non-Appropriated Funds Instrumentalities for the United States armed services. These include individuals who work at Officers Clubs; individuals who work at Base Exchanges and Post Exchanges, even individuals located on military bases in support of the troops such as fast food restaurants, some types of shops and other type of merchant activities. Individual covered under this Act come under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.
